Brigadeiro is a soft chocolate treat made with condensed milk and cocoa. It is present in every Brazilian birthday party and also it`s knowing like a desert to cheer you up on bad days. Every Brazilian knows brigadeiro, and everyone who tries it likes it. It’s also a very good treat to do with kids. You have many options and creative ways to make brigadeiro but today let’s learn the basic recipe.
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa (You can use more cocoa, some recipes maybe 4 spoons. You can also use chocolate powder in which case you need 7 spoons, but the Brigadeiros will be intensely sweet. With practice, you will find your own perfect recipe)
- 1 can (14 ounce) sweetened condensed milk (Leite Moça Nestle – For a better experience)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Chocolate sprinkles (You can use another type of sprinkles too)
How to make it
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine condensed milk, cocoa powder and butter. Cook, stirring, until thickened, about 10 minutes or less. Remove from heat and let rest until cool enough to handle in a separate plate. Form into small balls and cover with the chocolate sprinkles. Eat at once or enjoy for some days.
